Terms of service

These terms cover Nora, a personal assistant operated by Umla (umlahelp@gmail.com), on the web and in the mobile app. Using Nora means you accept them. If you do not, do not use it or connect an account.
What Nora is
Nora is an assistant in active development, offered to invited users as a preview. It is not a finished product. Features change without notice, some are marked as planned and are not available yet, and the service may be unavailable at any time.
Nora acts for you, only with your OK
You can ask Nora to draft and send messages, create calendar events, place phone calls, and find and prepare purchases. Nora proposes each of these and waits. Nothing that leaves your account, whether a message, a call, a booking or a payment, happens until you approve it. Your tap on a proposal you asked for is your approval, and it applies to that proposal exactly as shown. If what was approved changes, Nora asks again.
What you approve is yours: a message sent, a meeting booked or an order placed through Nora is sent, booked or placed by you. Read a proposal before you approve it, and edit or decline it if anything is wrong.
Your account and connected services
You sign in with Google and may connect other services, such as Gmail, Calendar, Contacts, Tasks or Drive. You are responsible for the accounts you connect, for keeping your devices and sign-in secure, and for having the right to use any account you connect. Each service keeps its own terms, which still apply to you. What Nora reads, keeps and deletes is set out in the privacy policy.
You can disconnect a service or stop using Nora at any time. Disconnecting ends Nora's access to that service; it does not keep reading it afterwards.
Calls
When you approve a call, Nora calls the number from your contacts or from a business listing, not a number it made up. You are responsible for having a lawful reason to contact the person or business, and for any agreement you choose to make as a result of the call.
Purchases and payments
Nora can compare options and prepare an order, but it does not hold your card or UPI details and never enters a PIN, OTP or password for you. You pay in your own payment app or checkout. Before you pay, check the item, seller, quantity, price, taxes, delivery date and cancellation terms.
A purchase is a contract between you and the seller. Delivery, returns, refunds and warranties are the seller's responsibility under their terms. Umla is not a party to it and does not sell the goods or services Nora finds.
Other websites and businesses
Nora reads public websites, listings and prices to answer you. That information can be wrong or out of date, and a site or business may refuse requests from an assistant. We do not control third-party services and are not responsible for what they show, charge or do.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you give Nora and what it produces for you: your messages, files, photos, voice notes and drafts. You let us process that content only to run Nora for you, as the privacy policy describes. We claim no other rights in it, and we do not sell it.
AI can be wrong
Nora's answers, summaries, transcripts and suggestions are generated by AI and can be incomplete or wrong. Check anything important before relying on it. Nora is not a doctor, lawyer or financial adviser; health, legal and money answers are general information, not professional advice. In an emergency, contact local emergency services, not Nora.
Acceptable use
Do not use Nora to break the law, harass or deceive anyone, send unsolicited bulk messages or calls, access an account you are not entitled to, get around a website's protections, or attack or overload the service. We may refuse a request, or suspend or end access, when use breaks these terms.
No warranty, limited liability
The preview is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data or lost profits arising from your use of Nora, or for the acts of sellers, businesses or services you deal with through it.
Ending it
You may stop using Nora whenever you like; email us to have your account data deleted. We may end the preview, for anyone or everyone, at any time.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change materially, the date above changes and we tell connected users by email.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Bengaluru have exclusive jurisdiction.
